Acid Jazz Music
By Jan Waring

Popularly known as club music, Acid jazz music combines jazz influences with elements of soul music, funk and disco.

Creating Acid Jazz Music

Acid jazz music developed in the 1980s and 1990s. It was intended for clubbers who love to dance and who also enjoy tuneful jazz. Its catchy melodies make anyone get up and onto the dance floor.

Gilles Peterson is largely credited for the acid jazz invention. When a fellow DJ made him listen to an acid house mix, he compared the changes he had brought to jazz with the changes in the house music and named his creation acid jazz music.

By Jan Waring

Blending the dynamics of jazz with the power of Christian faith creates a vibrant and powerful musical genre called Christian jazz music. The marriage of the meaningful words of an old hymn coupled with the personal impressions and experience of the jazz vocalist or instrumentalist provides for a vibrant expression of faith. It is important to note that Christian jazz music is not a new musical expression of ones faith.

There are three possible benefits of Christian jazz music. They are worship, expression of personal faith and edification of others.

Worship

Christian jazz music is the jazz style of Christian music that has appealed to modern-day worshipers. Worship is deeply embedded in the performers desire to give thanks to God for their talents and express their adoration. Christian jazz music provides a venue for the Christian performer and jazz enthusiast to meet together and express their love for God in a non-traditional, yet unified manner.

Personal Expression

Christian jazz music provides an avenue whereby aspiring singers can give a voice to their own personal testimony
